The Grudge (2004)
Topic: Movies
Director: Takashi Shimizu
Studio: Sony Pictures
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jason Behr, William Mapother, Clea DuVall, KaDee Strickland, Grace Zabriskie, Bill Pullman, Rosa Blasi, Ted Raimi...
Rating: PG-13

Synopsis: A Jewish/American nurse living and working in Tokyo is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse, one that locks a person in a powerful rage before claiming their life and spreading to another victim.

My Review: In a nutshell--this movie sucked ass. The pace was slow and the special effects were cheesy. I stopped caring about the plot or any of the characters about 20 minutes into the movie. If I had been viewing this movie anywhere other than at home, I would've walked out. All of the best scenes are the ones you saw in the trailer. Sarah Michelle Gellar is the only reason why anyone would bother to watch this piece of crap, and she's only on-screen for a short time during the movie. A lot of the dialogue in the movie is in Japanese, which makes it even more difficult to figure out what the heck is going on. If you haven't already seen this movie, avoid it like you'd avoid a deadbeat relative looking for a handout.

My Rating: 0 stars

Related Trivia:
1. The Grudge is a remake of a Japanese film, Ju-on: The Grudge (2003).
2. William Mapother is Tom Cruise's cousin.
